Department of Internal Medicine

Upon the restoration of the Faculty of Medicine in 1995, the Department of Therapy (Internal Medicine) was also established. Initially, the main clinical base unit of the Department was the M. Tsinamdzgvrishvili Research Institute of Cardiology. Since 2012, the Department has been operating at the base of Academician G. Chapidze Emergency Cardiology Center.

Since 2013,  the personnel of the Department have organized and have been involved in 18 research,  practical (national and international conference, congress), and continuing medical education events. In addition, the personnel has been actively involved in international multicenter clinical trials.

 The Department systematically provides both professional education of Ph.D. students and clinical residents ("Cardiology", "Interventional Cardiology").
